Osteoma Periférico del Cóndilo Mandibular de 10 Años de Evolución

El osteoma es una neoplasia benigna caracterizada por una proliferación de hueso maduro, de naturaleza esponjosa o cortical, limitada casi exclusivamente a los huesos craneofaciales. En general, los osteomas asintomáticos no necesariamente requieren tratamiento. Sin embargo, cuando además se presentan síntomas como trastornos funcionales (limitación de la apertura bucal, maloclusión y desviación mandibular), asimetría facial y dolor, está indicado el tratamiento quirúrgico. El objetivo del presente artículo es la presentación de un caso clínico de osteoma del cóndilo mandibular de 10 años de evolución, y su consecuente tratamiento y evolución.
